Wake up. Test blood sugar. Get the baby dressed. Drink water. Check emails.
It’s a rhythm I’ve grown into — balancing motherhood, health, and business before 10AM.
Here’s what my typical morning looks like (on a good day!):
6:30 AM — Wake up + blood sugar check
Before anything else, I scan my CGM or do a finger prick. Knowing where I stand helps me plan my breakfast and energy.
7:00 AM — Baby time
Change, cuddle, and get Khayil dressed. Sometimes he “helps” — which usually means chaos and giggles.
7:45 AM — Hydrate + light breakfast
I drink a glass of water and prep something simple: eggs, toast with avocado, or Greek yogurt with fruit — all mindful of my insulin and carbs.
8:30 AM — Work check-in
Emails, priorities, and syncing with my calendar. I use Google Calendar + Notion to plan my client work and content.
9:30 AM — Movement
A walk with the stroller, a short stretch session, or a worship playlist to start the day grounded.
Even with Type 1 diabetes and a toddler, I’ve learned that a consistent morning routine sets the tone for everything. I can’t control everything — but I can choose how I begin.
